At this range with the GFS’ progressive bias, that second wave is in a good spot at this moment
I wouldn’t freak out. Definitely more potential if you modified the H5 look.

850s are fine in the interior parts of these states, but the precip is so light. The wave just does not come in at the right angle to create a viable moisture transport. We went from a bonafide cutoff ULL to an upper level trough lol.
Probably not a storm on the CMC, but I like this look!
The axis of wave 1 sitting basically overhead w/ wave #2 (which may become our big cut off upper low) entering the Great Basin
Oh heck yea, I absolutely love seeing a wave over the southern Rockies while a vortex pinwheels over New England & Atlantic Canada.
So far the cmc, icon, gfs have shown at least a chance of light snow or flurries for this area late Monday into early Tuesday as the upper level energy passes by. They have also shown some hints of or rain changing to snow in North Al, north Ga, upstate SC, nc mountains, east Tn. Not a bad start
Now that right there gives me more classic miller B vibes with a classic SE Canada vortex and lagging wave behind it
NO signal /TC helps us in the SE more than a +PNA. Rest are nice and have their moments of glory. But a tall west coast ridge even if its only delivering normal canadian air usually solves our 1st and most pressing issue, cold air.
I'm not going to worry about advice from Tallahassee.
