Looks like we're going for the classic NINO pattern in the long term, which in Dec can mean one of two things here: 1) torch across the conus 2) +PNA pattern w/ seasonably cool conditions in the eastern & southern US, warmth elsewhere.

This isn't going to be the coldest pattern in the world by any means as North America becomes flooded w/ mild, Pacific air but I'll certainly take it.

Oh by the way, just got back from my son 5th grad field trip in DC. Saw a brief flurry yesterday . So I've seen snow flakes...

Weird temp profiles going on at CHA airport. Winds staying less than 3 mph to calm. I've long not trusted this NWS official site as accurate.

Need to move further from the city! I’ve checked 10 Wunderground stations around here to verify and they all have a reading of at least 30 degrees sometime last night early this morning
