Cherry picking the worst model run and dooming about it is so silly. The general consensus for Charlotte is for greater than the seasonal average at once. That, in and of itself, is a win. Whether it’s 5” or 7” is relatively meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Enjoy this!! It doesn’t happen often.

Sorry is the pessimist in me. Not trying to be a downer. Just hopeful for 2-3 and I would be happy. We’ve all been burned a lot lately and it’s hard to keep those memories down.

That is fair. We have a lot of solid models, RGEM included, on our side. It’s almost time to now cast anyway and ditch the models. This time tomorrow, snow is gonna be falling for all of us and that is something to celebrate.

This looks just like those GFS runs, like 8 in a row, when it locked in on when Identifying this threat.
I'd still feel a lot more confident if the Euro had a little more QPF across the board. Traditionally the NW trend would continue unfettered until the system was over but there hasnt been a ton of overwhelming evidence of it here.

Yea, Back here in the N. Foothills/ NW Piedmont we seem to be getting the min showing up on almost all models and runs. Big Frosty, PowerStroke , and me are getting use to it "if it can go wrong it will" here
GFS cooks it right overhead. If this verifies like this 10-15 seems like a good high end
850mb and 700mb lows going basically due E from the upstate to ILM has typically been a W for the I40 corridor in NC

I was about to make the same observation. Could also do the same for 3km vs 12 km NAM. Absolutely no consensus. So we have a developing coastal storm and one of the NAMs gave me (on the coast) less than 0.2 inches of QPF with only half of that frozen!

Ok….. so ummmm CLT Metro all 4 18Z’s so far in that 9-13” range …. Cut it by .25 and that’s our number I’d assume

Oh yeah, you're far enough north you got crushed in 2014 by the ULL, didn't ya? I actually forgot how good CLT-proper did with that one, as well. I guess this one isn't a slam dunk to top that (7-8" it looks like?).
