Pattern NC Only Thread

Folks always get squirrelly right before the start…

I get it, after the emotional capital committed, late nights model watching, hope waxing and waning with every cycle, and now nothing, waiting.
It's not squirellyness so much in this particular event. These conditions both cold on the front end and afterwards plus a sure fire guarantee of only snow for the duration in the Triangle just don't come along very often. That is the cause of my frustration. We should bank solidly in this set up but looks like we are not right now. Could change but there is little support for it. Not compared to both east and west of our position anyway. The certainty there is far more solid.

Kind of like blowing a 10pt lead in the last minute of a basketball game

Sadly never came another 8 miles south :( alas
This was supposed to be a storm where we would outperform N Durham County, which is such a rarity. Seems it may not happen with this one, either. North is always better, doesn’t matter the setup!!! 😂

When I saw it was snowing in Roxboro already a few hours ago, I couldn’t help but laugh. Snow capital of NC for real.

I haven’t had a great feeling for the Triangle-ish since yesterday but I’m still hopeful. I’m watching that band moving through SENC and you’d think there’s a wall along 13 Fayetteville to Goldsboro blocking it

Latest HRRR still gives us 1-2 at 10:1. I expect we'll get something but quite disappointing considering the potential
Yeah, in all seriousness I bet we’ll end up with 2-4” or something, which in isolation is fine, but with all the potential with this one, it hurts.

I’m encouraged by the radar right now. I like some of what I’m seeing. Dry slot filling in and good flow of moisture off the Atlantic. My interest is peaked. The HRRR does not have a good hold on the moisture. I don’t think it is handling the drier air in the atmosphere well and cutting moisture. Especially east of Raleigh.
