Pattern NC Only Thread

If I had to pick where right now for the Coastal I’d say either somewhere around Warsaw/Mount Olive, or Downeast Carteret, I do think we have hit the floor on how much liquid we will be working with and expect a modest increase in amounts over the next 24hrs.

Saw 13” in 2004, 13” in 2014, seen 8-10” probably 5-7x but can this one be different!! lol let’s hope 10+ is memorable to me. I just want a double digit season again so I need roughly 7.5 to add to last week

I’m curious if they’ve ever had an official forecast where they forecasted 8”+ / 6”+ over such a large portion of the state. I certainly don’t remember it.

Yes, Feb 14. And Jan 2017 off top of my head. My bad James I see you meant whole state, yea idk.

Is it crazy to think if HRRR/Hi-Res start dropping 10-13” range these go up? I mean 8-12” seems solid to me may as well just leave it imo. I see a ton of 5-7” totals in Metro but idk if I’d have the balls to throw 8-12. I’d have a Broad 3-6” for now if I was on TV.

When are we really going to start looking at the hi-res stuff? Some are saying it’s been all over the place so far.

January 1988 was the last one for me. Snow all day. Temps in the upper teens and wind chill around 0

I always used to think we got a foot IMBY in Greensboro area in Jan 2000, but it seems the reality is that we got 10-11”. Given we also came up just short in 2002, I think I’ve never actually seen a foot of snow before. I grew up on the border of the area of Guilford County which hasn’t seen a snowfall over a foot since 1969 and 2004, but I lived out of state for a few years in the 2000s, and 2004 was one of those years…

Perhaps this is the time it’ll finally happen for me, but more than likely not. Haven’t seen more than 4” personally since 2015, so maybe we can start with that.
