Steady light snow for about 20 minutes now here a few miles east of Woodstock. Temp is 33 and roads are getting very wet before the bottom falls out temp wise. Will be some serious ice issues overnight and into tomorrow.
Sounds good, bud. Going to be a loong night
Look at the Jackosn radar it dows the same thing but there are plenty of ground reports in that area as well

State of emergency was mainly declared for school closings and to have extra resources to handle the nasty roads that will refreeze and be a nightmare. The real problem are the crashing temperatures freezing any precipitation that did fall. They would not declare a state of emergency if it was going to be just an inch of snow. Trust me there will be more than that in places, especially the 85 corridor and East Central AL.
Front is literally upon my neighborhood

I'll bump this if appropriate (please tell me) but I must say, in situations like this, WV is as important a tool as any ... tossed a few loops up there earlier, but this one is awesome. Worth studying the dynamic as well as any model in this time frame, IMHO ...Looking good

Y'all remember a few years back, Dallas , TX was forecast to get an inch and ended up with 12"!? That's the kind of busts that give you hope! It gave a lot of us wintry precip too
Yep, that's been his approach for years.Brad P. doing what he does. Inching up those totals. He downplays everything until the rulers come out.
