He must be looking at TWC of Accuweather ?The highs next weekend could be in the 30s for all we know. Or they could bust into the high 60s! We just don't know when its 7 days out

West TN had an epic March event in 2015The March 1960 articles, pictures never get old.
I firsf hand expierenced the 93 superstorm in the mtns. True Blizzard. Love to see another epic March event, been close to 30 yrs,so its time for one.
That was a triple phaser. Are rareWhat exactly would it take to have a blizzard so to speak in South Carolina? What all came together to create such an event in 93 and 1960?
Yep, 7-8 inches of pure sleet here in Montgomery County,Tn. It stayed on the ground and roads for a solid week here.West TN had an epic March event in 2015
I ended up with bout inch n half sleet 5 inches snow on top of itYep, 7-8 inches of pure sleet here in Montgomery County,Tn. It stayed on the ground and roads for a solid week here.
Y’all don’t want to see the frame after that one #Rain
Timing was the biggest problem that run if we’re taking the CFS verbatim..plenty of time. This one probably has legs for somebody on this forumHow can it be rain with cold that far south?

Is this storm that we are tracking at the end of the month about the same kind of storm that we had on the 8th of this month
Is it trending further west in the modelsNo nothing even close. This system is what’s called a Alberta clipper they come down from Canada. However they rarely produce snow east of the mountains meaning most times the upstate doesn’t get anything. But if this clipper digs west of us picks up gulf moisture or even moves into the gulf things could get interesting.

I have seen clippers several times give upstate 3" of snow. It can easily happen
Wish it was farther west!View attachment 36232
When you say Carolina are you talking about N.C. only or you talking about sc as wellWe had a clipper like system in January/February 2017 bring some good snow to the Carolinas
Heavier rates and that was snow through a good portion of the Carolinas. Dew points and surface temps were good. Timing/moisture and this could bring a nice little high ratio snowfall to somebody on this forum
Well if we’re taking the GFS at face value here, it had a surface temperature In the mid 30’s with a dewpoint in the mid/upper 20’s. 850’s were well below freezing. This tells me with proper rates it would have been snow. Main takeaway: It’s close. When you say Carolina are you talking about N.C. only or you talking about sc as well
You need those lines going off the coast to go north - south. To positive leaning
You get all those waves to merge and it will definitely impact the height field. A little SE ridging would help. You need those lines going off the coast to go north - south. To positive leaning
I’ve had the downslope winds warm me up and clear the skies too many times because of proximity to the mountains. I’m in the gap so to speak, it usually jumps over me and then starts snowing again.Heavier rates and that was snow through a good portion of the Carolinas. Dew points and surface temps were good. The highest ratio snow I personally ever experienced was January 2003. 7.2 inches of snow on only .18 of QPF in East Charlotte. A clipper system where a meso-low developed just south of GSPHeavier rates and that was snow through a good portion of the Carolinas. Dew points and surface temps were good. Yep, Charlotte reported 8.5 inches of snow with only 0.17 inches of liquid equivalent. (49 to 1 snow ratios). That night was absurd here in the foothills. Even had thunder snow...... Bite your tongue ...A little SE ridging would help
Just in case you weren’t sure yet that this was arguably one of if not the worst winter ever (in terms of the lack of cold + snow)...
