Pattern Microwave March

Know folks are tripping on this cold weather for march... but man 12z Euro is a dangerous set up taking place if correct late next week... trough on this run just got broader... model consistency with this system has been great... this system has my attention. To the fullest...again the western. Portion. If the lower ms valley stand to be the brunt of this but today's Euro could put folks further East In to play as well...
I see the GFS has had this system for a while. Has EURO been in play too or coming around more to the Idea of Severe?

Pretty well says it for MBY - the rest of y'all have had your fun this week, so feel like sharin'
If the wind dies down - it'll be colder ....

Gainesville is one of the star attractions now. If they get down to 26, it would be the coldest so late in the season on record!

If this wind dies down before midnight - radiational will take it lower - been there seen that too many times!

If that happens, up here on the NW side of "town" 23º would not be out of the question .... ;)

conversely - if the wind continues - it'll never get to 26º :(

Cheer me on folks! :D

The 12z Euro would be a red letter day for areas like East ark West tn North and central ms for sure possibly I to North Alabama... worth watching for sure. Euro has the system last two days. Just got more ominous this run...

If this threat holds together I might need to request a Vacation day for late next week lol.

I am seriously thinking about Do I g the exact same Thing... model holds I will do it.... I'm chase ready
I've always been a dedicated winter storm chaser, but over all these years of loving weather, I never chased Severe weather.

The problem as I see it with moving to the NE for more snow is that snow is ordinary up there. The higher expectations then lead to things like what was mentioned here about the Mid-Atlantic folks whining about "only" getting 6-8". It is the novelty of snow in the SE that I love the most about it. For a similar reason, I'd choose to be here for, say, 1" vs., say, 3" at ATL or 6" at RDU.
When I get rich, I'm going to buy an old ski resort and pave over the mountain, then use water guns to ice it down, lol. Then all I'll need is below freezing temps..won't have to rely on the moles ....who think a heavy metal reggae polka band is better than sleet. Picture Robert Plant singing reggae to a polka beat...no way that's better than conjuring up sleet in Ga. Dazed and Confused Polka??? With steel drums?? No way!

Too funny, Tony!
Brown rice??? LOL

I'm about to take another very enjoyable walk in this paradise of an airmass. Here it is now 50 with 20% RH as well as steady winds/nice windchill and it will fall into the upper and possibly mid 40's by the end of the walk. Upper 20s are forecasted for tonight, when I'll be warm inside. Life is good!

Dew point of 16º here right now - want some dry, cold FL weather?

I think if you are looking for severe weather the system toward the very end of the month would be a more likely severe weather producer versus the day 8-9 system. The day 8-9 system may have some moisture return issues. Just my thoughts

Honestly I think you're in the perfect place. You normally get a decent amount of snow every winter. You are getting older and I don't think you want to deal with shoveling snow all the time. You could really hurt your back. Plus, driving in snow sucks !
It's not just the snow as it is also the long hot summers out here. But I'll be looking at other areas such as Ohio as I've been there before and loved it. As far as driving in the snow I love that also. When I got a foot of snow last year I took my front wheel drive Jetta and had no problems driving in it. Now I'm sure more then a foot is different but driving when it snows 3 or more inches out here is my favorite part. I'm weird in the fact that even the mid 70s start bothering me temp wise now. I literally start counting the days down to winter as soon as it ends. Also I'm going to be 38 not 78 so I should still be able to shovel for a few more years. Lol
