Pattern Microwave March

That's the kind of thing that the coldest March 850's overall in 15-19 years in the SE will do. He will be flirting with the coldest so late in the season. He will obliterate the 32 3/16 daily record low. Here, too, there will be a chance for the coldest so late.

By the way, this March is trying to behave somewhat like March of 1932 and March of 1890, both of which followed two of the three warmest winters in Atlanta and many areas.
Did I get sleet? Either time? There is a patch of precip way back west that's make a bee line right for me, and I'm at 36 at 9:30. I'll have to try to wish me up some pellets :) T

With the way it is with how the plants have bloomed, this hard freeze that is coming might threaten April 2007 (I did say might). My dad told me the only time we did not have blueberries was thanks to the 2007 late hard freeze and that the bushes are almost finished blooming and are berries (which actually might be worse).

He hopes that the fact that they're not facing the north thanks to them being straight behind the house will save them.

And well, if the berries do survive it sounds like we might have blueberries in late April. Just crazy. The berries might die but if they don't they're going to be ready at least a month early.

I had a bumper crop the next year, buckets and buckets, and for once they were sweet. I'm tempted to leave them uncovered to see if lightening will strike twice. 24 or 26 and light wind here will get some stuff. I hope the mosquitoes and fleas have been coming up from what ever part of hell they reside in. The last two years were like the tundra here.... I'd like to see if they can find some coats real fast :) Them and their tick buddies.

Your best bet to get sleet would be to get the poster, Corey, to do a special sleet dance. The man is quite powerful, even more powerful than your moles, believe it or not! He may even have a ZR dance for all I know.

By the way, check out the grand solar minimum thread for sunspot updates (within Space Wx section). The sun is on a whopping nine day spotless streak and we're still likely 3-4 years from minimum!

Edit: I just took a fantastic walk in the upper 40's with windchill in the 30's. I had my ski cap, coat, gloves, and corduroy pants on. It felt so refreshing!

Currently 27 with a windchill of 16, can you imagine if we would've gotten this type of air-mass in January with a good snow pack to our north

This will be a fun day for tracking the highs, which are expected to be near 20 below normal! This is about 10 below the coldest normal highs of early to mid January as normals have increased about 10 since then.

Got down around 25 last night, and only supposed to be in the mid to low 40s and mid to upper 30s across the Upper South. Definitely not March weather, especially after the mega torch of February, this month has been anything but a microwave.

Low here this morning 22... pretty cold. By next week things start to cha 've towards Warner stormy pattern... system late next week needs watched for severe wx... especially the western part of the South midsouth regions... looks potent...not sure how far the threat will go East. But time to watch for sure...

I see the SPC is already somewhat mentioning this threat.

Anyone is Georgia still seeing snow flurries? I would really love to see some during the daylight hours. It's sunny here though right north of Atlanta.

We had a light dusting at the house this morning that almost looked like frost. Saw a few flurries yesterday but didn't expect to see anything on the ground this morning.

Here's hoping some cooler than normal temps stick around to finish up this crazy month ... LOL

Honestly I don't care much for below normal temps in Late March. Summer is when I want below normal temps.
