Based on Satellite the southwestern coast should be getting the eyewall right now.

It's intensifying into landfall it looks like
I guess it’s good fortune the direct landfall is happening on the western half of the island and not closer to Kingston.

I believe this is one of the top 5 strongest in Atlantic recorded history.
Uncontaminated SFMR of ~170kts and suspect of 180kts.
What’s the record for Atlantic landfall pressure? This has to be it or top 3

For an actual landfall* not over water. Wilma was over water and much weaker at landfall. Same as Gilbert
I know one thing, we are spoiled with the amount of data at our fingertips. I remember rapidly refreshing the page of the DVM to see it update in 2005. Now we can track multiple planes in almost real time.
