The updraft helicity map.....what am I looking for? Is this potential tracks?

Sent from my SM-S928U using Tapatalk
To my understanding it's not set tracks but shows the general potential within a given area for maximum tornadic potential if a storm's couplet organizes. Areas you see a ton of higher values concentrated are at highest risk for a tornado-producing supercell while lower concentrations are lower odds but the atmosphere still supports tornadic storms.

The amount of lightning has been impressive...hundreds of strikes per minute.

Yeah the wedge is holding pretty well right now, but there’s some SW winds coming in later. Also you have to wonder if some stuff might try to fire early along the wedge boundary as it starts lifting north
We want this boundary to either go farther southwest or retreat northeast. If you are north of it, it'll help but you do NOT want to be just south of it. Southeast Charlotte in March 2012 will tell you why.

Supercell characteristics starting to form in storms along the Mississippi River. As this linear convection moves north, expect to see a very drastic change in storm mode as the LLJ kicks in.....stay tuned!

OOF, that low level cloud clearing pattern in west central AL just put a pit in my stomach. You can see it tilting on the timelapse. Sheer on steroids.

View attachment 171813That is an unbelievable visible. And, a great learning/teaching tool to show someone what helicity "looks" like. I'm showing it to my kids.

Models are trending more linear. Could definitely diminish the threat.
Met in TWC .. not that I have them in highest regards.. but do respect them.. shows what appears to be more linear with I’m sure probable tornadoes in the line possible as it crosses from east AL into GA just after midnight to 2 am.. praying this is the case! Stupid me🤦‍♀️. Went to work yesterday and left my refrigerator door cracked.. lost all my food!!!! Ugh!!!! But not replacing it today.. it’d be my luck we lost power again in storm’s tonight.. so I’ll wait to tomorrow.. geez.
