Just curious, what was the purpose of that question? A person does not want to be in the ocean, in and or around Irma. With this kind of storm, it will bring significant storm surge and rip currents.What happens to ocean currents below the surface as a hurricane passes? I agree. We shall see what it does.Something is definitely amiss with the GFS this time. I'm very tempted to toss it given that the model weakens Irma to a 943mb hurricane in 6 hours.

Here's to hoping it does weaken.If the GFS ends up verifying with that pressure in 6 hours I'll be absolutely floored.
