Tropical Major Hurricane Harvey

Hopefully we all get some rain of this

Hopefully and there's so many things that can happen but if this verifies that ridge nosing down east of the Apps doesn't bode well for NC/SC rain chances (other than some light cad rain but not the good stuff)

Yes, the CAD suppresses rain chances, but look at those temps. There is the trade off.

GFS weaker due to less time over water, still strengthening system as it approaches landfall.... looked like the trough was flatter so it felt less of northward pull (Arcc alluded to this earlier I believe)

Rainfall totals are going to be catastrophic...

GFS still advertising a substantial amount of rain for North and Western Mississippi into next week!

NHC says, "Get ready."

* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...90 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...near 100 percent.

Ridge is hanging on a little longer this run allowing it to make it further west at first
