Solid dusting with light snow currently...27 degrees
By 11 am on future radar, it will be snowing everywhere in nc, sc. Mod to heavy from hwy 1 west all the way back to esst TN, east GA.

Still no dusting here but the flurries have noticeably picked up even though we haven't gotten under good radar returns yet. I think it's an indication we're about to go boom in the western upstate. It's going to crank, hard.

Hrrr says we approach one inch per hour rates around 9-10am in the western upstate. At 10:1 ratios... so likely well over 1 inch per hour rates!

It could be a false report. Would like to see another report or two to confirm. There are light radar returns in the area, though. HRRR insists that the column is too dry to make snow in that part of AL. Evidently, the sounding doesn't have to be fully saturated to get snow to the ground as is evident by the reports coming in around Acworth and north of Atlanta. Currently 30.4/23.7 and cloudy.

There's a reason why I've picked Waynesville for our future town whenever my wife and I move back to WNC in about 5 years. Haywood County is just magical for snow.

Ground and street covered in 20 minutes. Not to often we get every flake to stick out of the gate. GSP now has 6-12” in my point forecast

Yea it quickly turned into a dusting and sticking to the roads. Im happy now...lol
No CLT had 8” in the February 2014 storm and I think 5” in January 2011
You mean 2014 for CLT? Raleigh hasn’t had a 8” event in 24 years. This will be CLTs 3rd over that time.

We’re good. lol.
We’re not waiting for precip to come from the west in this case. It’s just gonna go boom on top of us from 7-9am. The slight delay in the precip blossoming is an indication this trough is gonna be a little more neg tilt, slower, stronger if anything.
H5 coming in and will begin to get more neutrally tilted and add more PVA aloft to the situation, everything should blossom more in the next few hours here
