12z HRRR looks good here. Look at that 18" in Chicago.
12z NAM is a nice improvement for DFW as well.
It now shows 4-6" area wide, and 5" specifically in Dallas.

I do not feel good about this here for us central Alabama folks. Sucks seeing the rgem and now HRRR cave to some warmer runs. Maybe we will get surprised, but it won’t hurt as bad to bust on ice versus snow.
I was shocked with BMX pulling the trigger on the watch for us further east, but I guess better safe than sorry. Grocery stores will be busy today

just out from Meteorologist Brad Travis in Huntsvillle: The event will feature mostly sleet and snow 2-4” in the Shoals. In the Huntsville Metro area it will begin as some freezing rain and sleet and be followed by a light accumulation of snow on top of the freezing rain.

Hard to bet against the euro and nam . Y are sticking to a more inland track which cause much warmer temps across northern Alabama and central Alabama

I can't help but wonder if TWC is overdoing the snowfall amounts in MS. They are showing roughly half of MS with 8-12" of snow. I just dont think that will happen.

You are correct. Memphis was obviously leaning with nam and it will apparently pay off. The meteorologist over there are very smart people and usually on point

yep think we ( here in far nw bama )gonna get a lot of sleet and freezing rain with a smidge of snow ..you will probably do better on snow but man I was hoping for a more se shift ..oh well we will see
