That’s odd because temps are about 5 degrees colder here than last run

The warm nose around 750 mb looks problematic, but maybe manageable, but I don’t think it’s cold enough in the dendritic growth zone to matter.

You might be able to get some snow grainy type prisms out of that mixed with sleet. It would be hard for me to see big fat dendrites in that sounding.

The euro is warmer because of the track of the low . Not because it’s just “ wrong “ the euro takes the low right through central Alabama . The icon and cmc are colder cause they take the low through south Alabama into Georgia

We still get a good bit of ice, around 1/3 of an inch, but now getting half an inch of sleet, and then a little snow on top at the end

This is a sounding from SW TN at the height of the snow. Look at the precipitable water in the DGZ! That's much higher than i've ever seen modeled in this region.

These things always creep further than the models show at go time. It's usually not a huge event for the fringe areas but I don't recall a single blue norther like this that didn't reach farther than what was shown. Meanwhile, I'll sit here between the real front and the pseudo wedge and enjoy my 40 degree rain while those just over Lookout Mtn score some ice.

If it were Sunday, It would be something to be optimistic about, but for Monday/Tuesday storm I believe it is fool's gold.

Ya'll aren't the only one, I am seeing where hardly anyone is making it to their supposed high temp that's locked in to the Arctic airmass.

I'm 25 miles north of downtown Birmingham and just under 800 feet in elevation. A nearby weather station at 840 feet is still reporting 34° at almost 1:00PM. We are so close to icing right now. This is going to be a crazy wild ride over the next few days, wondering how far east those sub-freezing temperatures will entrench.

UKMET looks the worst, and even if shows 3-4".
