It’s a strange setup, CAD pushes in at the same time during the precip, in backdoor fashion...
It’s kinda funny reading GSP’s afternoon discussion. Even though they have rain/snow in the forecast grids for Saturday and Sunday, they didn’t really put any details in the discussion

Welp. RIP. That’s a rare signal.
Haven't looked close, but I think sometimes the high pressures are trying to weaken/move away and can give the illusion a low is trying to cut "into it".. when really a couple frames later, the high is no longer buckled in. Not sure about this time.. just a note from previous times.
Geez I wonder why there’s no talk about king icon, it was about to dump this TPV on us lol 
Isn’t this almost the original look we had days ago ? 
I would think this SE shift keeps hope alive for more snow vs the lights out ice scenario.

18Z ICON is very close Fri/Sat in NC
Have to love it. With that TPV further east and more separation from those two shortwaves bracketing Mexico that maps just screams incoming! Not to mention it was a rather close call to something better for the Saturday-Sunday system.

Some stupid ICE totals from the EURO for the CAD areas of Georgia. I'd have to believe that more of that would fall as sleet with 925s at -5C and temps in the 20's around I-20. Perhaps I'm wrong though.
