July Surprise!

What a transition here in Galveston today loud storms well into the morning and then still on and off showers til mid afternoon and then it almost completely cleared out for a bright evening now to wait for whatever the low near the Keys does

Those beaches are dark ! Texas beaches don’t look as appealing as ones here , and definitely not Florida ! Is all the gulf coast like this ?

I'm not even sure Louisiana has beaches lol ? but yeah definitely doesn't compare to Florida

A lot of Galveston sand at least was brought in from outside I think after Ike. Not sure exactly how they did it but I remember when there was no beach here

Louisiana really doesn’t have beaches ! Blame that on the Mississippi and Atchafalaya rivers I suppose ! Although west of the Atchafalaya looks like Louisiana actually has some nice beaches and they are entirely undeveloped too!

@SD Thursday man that’s the day
Maybe. I could see Thursday dying before it gets here and Friday being confined to the coast.

I appreciate the optimism but I'm kind of broken at this point. Outside of random ulls or tropical systems my expectations for any beneficial significant rain is low to zero. Mid October can't get here soon enough

This is a very favorable sounding for wet microbursts tomorrow but question is do storms propagate off the mountains by ofbs, hrrr shows mid level warmth for areas in ENC 257E4D44-B7EC-4C23-9924-6F43432F5CE9.png

Someone over at 'the other weather board' mentioned that La Nina summer patterns tend to be hard to break down, linger.. Curious if one, is that true? And are we officially in a La Nina right now?

I feel this. 15 days and counting for me...

NWS removed even my 20% chance of storms for the next 2 days, left the stupid high heat though........no measurable rain IMBY in at least 10 days now, and the one shower I remember while heavy lasted 4 mins.....and that was 10 days ago...

Friday looks decent though a few round of storms could even things out quickly....
