July Surprise!

NWS removed even my 20% chance of storms for the next 2 days, left the stupid high heat though........no measurable rain IMBY in at least 10 days now, and the one shower I remember while heavy lasted 4 mins.....and that was 10 days ago...

Friday looks decent though a few round of storms could even things out quickly....
Itll probably rain tomorrow with the NWS offices backing off. They really hyped up yesterday and meh

I noticed the pond down the street from work has receded by a foot or so in the last 2 weeks. Crops are going south in a hurry. We need to pull something out in therain department.

Same the pond in the neighborhood went from over filled to seeing dirt around the edges. Probably could use a good 4-6 inches in most places to get back to normal

Surprisingly PGV was about 3 inches above average still just a week or so ago. This is certainly a short term but strong dry spell coupled with blazing hot ass sunshine.

Yeah reminds me of the "flash drought" last fall

Hrrr tomorrow would make some happy, wouldn’t surprise me if they upgrade tomorrow to a slight although shear is lacking, looks like a repeat of the Friday 2 weeks ago

Hmm unless that's not including yesterday I can tell you one spot that might be incorrect as we picked up a quick .7" yesterday, but that also gives away where I live...wait, I marked myself pretty much where I live on google maps.

Actually based off radar, the rest of the southern part of the county that doesn't have rain totals over it is incorrect as that storm had a ton of rain yesterday. Places a hair to my west probably picked up 1"+ just yesterday. Needed too because it had been dry since future Fay gave us almost all of our rain in July.

Yeah I found that map yesterday afternoon so it probably doesn’t include much of yesterday (before 12z yesterday)

Lot of weakening today. Had one storm going good over western Wilkes die. Seems like most are slow movers and not organizing. And hugging the blue ridge.

Kinda want some storms today to cool things down, I went to play basketball and it’s been non stop vomiting for the past hour from the heat, doesn’t help when you eat chocolate as breakfast

I've posted pics of my work environment and I can tell ya 3 things about what not to do in the heat.

One is neat anything excessively sweet like chocolate.....super sweet for me means super sick.

2) zero alcohol period. No going out drinking the night before work.

3) this is my weak spot but no milk or ice cream before going out in the heat. I broke this rule last week with a BK $1 mini shake and I paid the price for it.

Feel better soon man.!

Yeah, dairy is the absolute worst thing to eat in this heat. Plus, I'm lactose intolerant. Nothing wrong with having an adult beverage with dinner though. I think as long as you hydrate, you should be good.
