Not sure what's going on in this gap between the heat advisories near Atlanta. View attachment 87265
Heat Index is probably why, I think the criteria is a HI of 105 or greater.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Peachtree City GA
739 PM EDT Tue Jul 27 2021

.PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 317 PM EDT Tue Jul 27 2021/

SHORT TERM /Tonight through Wednesday Night/...

By Wednesday, the front begins to push into the CWA bringing some
relief to some portions of northern Georgia, but only as far as
decreased PWATs AND slightly lower dewpoints. For southern portions
of the area, the oppressive temperatures and chances for showers and
thunderstorms are expected to continue. With the current forecast,
we may not reach Heat Advisory criteria in a large enough area to
warrant another Heat Advisory across the area Wednesday afternoon,
so have held off on any issuance. We will continue to monitor heat
index values if it becomes necessary.
Regardless, those who will be
outside should make sure to take precautions against the heat and
practice good heat safety.

I’m visiting Tybee Island and stuck out here with some out of town friends as I type this with very heavy rains and strong winds:
From CHas:
AS OF 930 PM: KCLX DETECTED AN EXPANDING AREA OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS SE GA NORTH TO BEAUFORT CO AND THE ADJACENT
WATERS. LATEST RUN OF THE HRRR INDICATES THAT CONVECTION WILL
GRADUALLY INCREASE ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH THE REST OF
THE EVENING AND INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. POPS WILL BE
INCREASE THROUGH THE LATE NIGHT HOURS.

Tucson got 1.27 inches of rain today making for 7.06 inches of rain this July, wettest July ever . We are getting beat by the freaking desert ! Second wettest month ever behind august 1955. Seriously , that means part of the west is getting its drought busted, or at least substantially improved ! Los Angeles is having its third wettest July ever but that’s not saying much , they have gotten fractions of an inch of rain lmao. .22 inches using the downtown station.

While still stuck at Tybee waiting out the storm, I just took this pic with lightning lighting up the sky like it is daylight!

Just had two very close hits with one blinking the lights…holy cow!!

Technically, this is related to the weak Invest low that’s hanging around.

I just got on the Tybee Island webcam and it's very frequent and bright flashes. WOW!
