This storm potential might look good on this run
New Year Eve/Day storm looks like it's gonna be a big dog on 18z GFS. Significantly colder outfront of the storm in our region vs 12z.

Wow! Everyone is focused on the first storm for the 29th and 30th, but it might just be setting the stage for a bigger one to bring in the New Year. Reminds me of how things with the Carolina Crusher. And it hit 70 exactly a week before that happened, too, just like it did yesterday.

Plus I think you would have a little higher snow rates like 12:1 on the northern side of this because of the depth of the cold.
