In Fort Mill, SC just south of CLT and nothing. Not one flake or drop.
Yea that dry slot tomorrow its killing the totalSome people are canceling the storm (or 75% of the QPF). Others are worried about early ZR and others are expecting precip to start blossoming imminently.
Fair to say no one really has much of a clue still at this point?!
In this instance, we have a constant resupply of sub-freezing air on the NE wind within the wedge. So, I don't know crap compared to most of the board, but I have a question.
My understanding is that freezing rain is a self limiting process because it releases latent heat, so if we start freezing rain with all of this precip about to come through at marginal temperatures, is there a decent chance we flip back to rain?
You sure its snow? Or sleet?Mix of freezing rain and snow in Marietta
Nah. It's way too warm and moist down there. Maybe when it gets into NE Ga some of it will.I wonder that batch in Montegomery will be sleet with the heavy returns?
What in the world? This storm has wore me out!
Freezing rain has made it all the way to Charleston and here. Winter weather advisory has been expanded to including Charleston County.
The weather channel has become a jokeI just checked TWC live broadcast. What a joke. I mean, a historic winter event is affecting half of the US. They are airing some kind of reality show. Not the go to channel most of us grew up with. That sucks !! Oh well
I wonder if reports from toccoa lavonia an Pickens show snow as there observation are legit?man the radar looks great for the upstate. We’re getting smoked.

Yeah when I have upper teens without full wet-bulb, I know this is digging deep into S Carolina. This is in the mold of Feb 1979 and Jan 1988 type damming, but with less precipitationFreezing rain has made it all the way to Charleston and here. Winter weather advisory has been expanded to including Charleston County.

Push that into Atlanta pleaseSeeing flurries with the sleet. Would be quite a surprise if we got snow here!
