So, I don't know crap compared to most of the board, but I have a question.

My understanding is that freezing rain is a self limiting process because it releases latent heat, so if we start freezing rain with all of this precip about to come through at marginal temperatures, is there a decent chance we flip back to rain?

In this instance, we have a constant resupply of sub-freezing air on the NE wind within the wedge.

The NAM is awful man. Basically no sleet here. All ZR. It’s entirely too dry until go time. It’s too warm. It’s got me at 24 on the 3K and I’m sitting at 20. And it keeps increasing totals.

Nah. It's way too warm and moist down there. Maybe when it gets into NE Ga some of it will.

ALOT of heavy moisture coming out GA that’s about to ride up 85 & escalate everything fast. BTW, the CAD is over-performing temp wise. It’s 25.3° here in Columbia. If we had more widespread moisture like others to our West & Northwest, this would be a historic storm for the Carolinas.

Ironically we're probably not gonna end up getting anymore snow here than the other two big storms I've seen here since I moved in 2021. It's a nice storm but it's not setting any records here

I just checked TWC live broadcast. What a joke. I mean, a historic winter event is affecting half of the US. They are airing some kind of reality show. Not the go to channel most of us grew up with. That sucks !! Oh well

Yeah when I have upper teens without full wet-bulb, I know this is digging deep into S Carolina. This is in the mold of Feb 1979 and Jan 1988 type damming, but with less precipitation

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen winter precip at 21 degrees here. In fact, I’m not sure I ever have in the last 30 years.

We’ve done 23/24 several times, but not 21.

Gulf Coast Line to my untrained, tired eyes looks to be oriented in a way to OPEN the Gulf.

Maybe .1” ICE so far …. Most Definitely 1/2” SN/IP …. Party just begging. Still liking my forecast from earlier. I may be high ln I-40 area but for now my 2”+ / .25”+ probably gonna be fine
