Radar beam angled up, hits snow aloft that isn’t reaching the ground due to dry air. That will slowly advance closer and close to Wake and eventually we’ll fill in and snow

That's not the noted 'dry slot'. This is column saturation. Something different

Should have said dry column then not slot, and I’ll take that. Sometimes I don’t use correct terms. But still happing nonetheless the less.

Feels like this is not going to be Charlotte's snowfall at all. Can't believe it's going to be just to our South and East after umpteen misses to the North and West over the last several years.
Puzzling how the coastal snow has been forecast for over a week and has held rock-solid. When we get a forecast a week out, it always trends away from us at the end.
Congrats to all those scoring a nice event!

We got bit with the 700mb dry punch pretty quick here. Wound up with 1/4 inch of snow. A few flurries still falling but I think it's done. I'm not gonna complain considering a goose egg was always on the table.

I was thinking 1-2" for Raleigh....but now I think we will be fortunate to get a dusting to 0.5". The snowhole is real for Raleigh...always is.

Well not sure how much longer snow will fall here but it will probably be close to an inch, dont think ive ever seen snow twice in one year here before

Same here a bit to your west. I'm still keeping an eye on that slug of moisture scooting up I 85 from Alabama that may clip me, but will almost certainly clip Athens in the next hour to two.
