TPV just stays there from hour 150ish onward and gets stronger over time, lol

I mean seriously, it's a very sad thing when a lobe of the TPV drops in to near Maine and it's not even close to making us snow.
Eventually we'll luck into a winter storm if it sets up shop nearby.

No kidding. I don’t know, maybe it’s my inner weenie but these model depictions just don’t look right. Maybe it is just an unusual H5 look bit I really don’t see how with these features North America is not colder.
I agree, why is not colder ? There’s a TPV with some of the best cold in the world above us lol

So everything I read says it could take upwards of 5 weeks for us to see the effects of SSW event and that models will be a cluster in predicting that. So I guess we will have to either come to grips with that or not. Sure it could just not transpire but I’m going to go with the models not being reliable for now.

There were a few hammer drops on the cold at the end of the eps run and once again D10+ isn't warm. I'm just ready to get this to d5 or so where we can actually start ironing out some details of how this will evolve

I think it is interesting that we have this sort of epic looking vortex this weekend with what ends up being pretty normal looking temps. At least up here.

This GFS run finally put a end to the weakening -NAO trend and had a slightly stronger block this run, the result ?
