The -NAO/AO has literally been the only good thing about this pattern hemispherically although we've also had a nice +PNA for a while. I'd like to see at least one solid burst of high-latitude N Pacific blocking to send some cold air from Siberia into our backyard.

When you think about it, it's actually insane to see sfc pressures and anomalies rising w/ increasing range on an ensemble mean, this is a massive signal out around day 9-10 lol.
Flipping the EPO will force Eurasia to share its cold air w/ us & send a parade of cold sfc highs down into the CONUS
