I don’t really get the talk of “the pattern isn’t doing nothing right now” or “the pattern is being wasted”
Some areas in the SE are seeing snow right now ? Did we have anything like that in 2020 ? poop no

I want snow AND cold.. so it sticks for longer than a day and I can fully enjoy it. It's why Feb 8, 2020, though a beautiful morning surprise, still didn't fully satisfy me. Had to go to work later that afternoon, and driving home that night.. it was mostly melted. Unless it snows 6 plus inches, we also need some deep cold to make it a full snow experience.

I still believe that if we are going to get a substantial storm, it's going to "sneak up" on us. Meaning models won't start sniffing it out until 3-4 days out. The 18th time period is something to watch. As stated above, we just need more moisture.

Looking at the loop and considering models biases, probably a pretty good phaser there.
