I must say. The gfs never budged and was the more consistent model.
I still think the GFS is underdoing CAD, I think this is a I-40 event imo

Yeah that's reasonable. That's what I've been thinking for the last couple of days. Maybe we can pull a miracle and not get shafted in February or March lol

Anybody have the 6z EPS? The Mid-Atlantic crew says that the primary low is weaker and a colder run. Not sure if that translates for us down here. I really don't want an ice storm. @KyloG @Myfrotho704_

EPS looks about the same temp wise. May be a touch colder than the 0Z run.

Will be interesting to see how models handle the CAD now that there's real snow cover to our north. Still think we won't know much until we get inside 60 hours on this one.
A couple of different look at the past few runs of the EPS at different times. Subtle speed up of the upper low is all I really see. We need the NAO/50-50 to go nuts I would guess to help us.

Winds never went calm so even places that got the most snow stayed in the low to mid-20s.

I don’t think there will be much at all. Completely sunny and around 40 today will do it . There isn't much of anything left where I am already and I got 3 inches.

Still have a trace of snow in some areas here in Durham. Pretty chilly this morning!
Bottomed out at 18.1, not the coldest night of the year but another on in the teens at least.
Mid day and still sitting at 32

I’ve noticed the buds on some trees are really showing. Maples have a heavy red tinge to em right now. Saw some blooming trees on NCSU campus but they bloom every January . Want to say they are some sort of pear tree or something .
I've noticed the same thing here for a couple of weeks now, its what prompted me to check this. Its like the trees know something we don't.

This happens every year in the south. My hydrangeas already tried to leaf and froze.

Hydrangeas are stupid. Aren't they smart enough to know not to bloom until at least March ?

RDU will drop anywhere from 17-21 tonight . NWS has 20, I really hope we stay above for novelties sake and just to make this month more absurd . Unlikely though I think .
Already down to 19, hah that was forecasted low.... I'm gonna say 14 not out of the question

The creasy greens are already coming up. About 3 weeks ahead of schedule in spite of a fairly cool-cold winter with no torches. Weird!!!

20/19. Wish clouds followed by heavy snow was rolling in. I wonder what something like that must be like.
