We may not get above freezing between the 2 storms. I would expect some loss due to compaction and sublimation.

NWS says close to 40 for you on Sat but that may be optimistic.

They said I was gonna hit the low 60s yesterday. Only hit 54.
Updated and final call map, pain here but looks good for other areas !

Yup. Story of our lives in the QC. Yesterday looked better for us, but today not so much. (BTW your profile pic is very descriptive as to what we Charlottean's have been and will be doing tonight). Wishing you guys in the Triangle all the luck though.
Never doubt the power of the sun. I’ve seen the sun go scorched earth with full sunshine on snow even with temperatures in the low 20s. The shady spots should be good, though.

It's incredible. I've seen snow melt at 20 degrees under bright sunny skies.
Yep the sun is hot, it melts snow and ice.....

I wouldn’t be surprised if a day of full sunshine with a high of 25 is worse for snowcover than a cloudy day with a high of 40. The sun is pretty brutal.

And we are getting further and further away from solstice.
The Para has sure been a beacon of consistency for the past couple days. Looks like it’s staying the course with its axis of heaviest snow from Greensboro to Durham to Rocky Mount. We’ll see if it’s right. Surely, it’s overdone with amounts at the very least.
