On the frontend and the backend. Frontend because if everything is just 2-3 degrees colder than modeled, decent frontend thump and the backend could be more moist than modeled....somehow we'll find a way to lose at both.

Gonna go off a limb here and say a exceptional dangerous High Risk will be issued in the morning for southern Winston-Salem, southern GSO, down into Asheboro zoo area could be a war zone. This “could” extend into western Raleigh metro and north-eastern Charlotte metro.

Not sure what it means but the hrrr has steadily turned this more positively tilted today. Also look at the ULL trending stronger. And more SE? This is why i love hrrr hourly runs

The briefing that just came seemed to be really concerned with wind. Talk of upgrading wind advisory to high wind warning for some especially along I-85 from Lagrange on up. So power outages a concern regardless of ice coverage.

By the way those wind gusts on the HRRR would be something else. Probably too high, but even if you take off about 10-15 MPH you still get 40-45 mph wind gusts.

and it’s not because the system is necessarily speeding up.. it’s more because that FGEN forcing is expanding further E and NE ahead of the low
