It's fighting SW shear. It's ventilating on the Se side, which is an improvement from this morning.

Crazy thing is I think they might have missed dead central. That 970.4 was taken with 10 to 20kts FL winds...

Edit: anyway you slice it.. from 11am to 5pm, that's a 15mb drop or 2.5 MB/HR pressure falls.
 
Dropsonde with flight winds of 113 MPH. Another 113MPH wind reading found a couple thousand feet from the surface.
