Tropical Hurricane Dorian

Charleston. Not too terrible yet

Anyone have reports out of the SC coastal area? It seems awful quiet here.

I've seen NWS stations reporting winds gusting 50-60mph across a good chunk of SC. Going to be a number of outages there and especially up in NC as the west side of the wind field gets enhanced.

Meanwhile, just cloudy here in Raleigh. Looks like they could have had school today, but better safe than sorry.

Poweroutage.us is reporting over 225,000 power outages across South Carolina. North Carolina currently has over 8,000 power outages reported.

Yeah I think your neighborhood should be fine today with a little light rain and a light breeze with the sun peaking through, as the storm start moving NE motion. Coast may get rough, but your area will see a nice day. Ain't you glad?

We've lost power for the 3rd time this morning. Tree damage is mostly arm/leg sized branches with some scattered larger ones down. Some houses have trim or shutters partially pulled off.

Looks like plenty of 50-70mph gusts have come through my neighborhood.

The tornado warnings keep coming.

The western eyewall of #Hurricane #Dorian is essentially along the South Carolina coastline this morning. Barring a NE shift in the current heading It's looking increasingly likely that #MyrtleBeach will get a direct impact from the eyewall within the next 3 hours. #SCwx

I don’t know if this has already been shared but “Dorian expected to remain a powerful.” Now is not the time to let your guard down. 75BD0DF3-4D7D-492E-8060-893C15F497ED.jpeg

I should probably add, my neighbor across the street had the tonneau cover ripped off his truck and into the back window. Not sure what kind of wind speed that might correlate with.

Damage reported on Bald Eagle Ln in New Hanover County from a tornado.
