Misc General Banter Thread

Surely this pos isn’t gonna go 48hrs of consistent CLT Metro / GSP jackpot just to lose the ULL and go full coastal with literally 18hrs to go….. surely smh

Interestingly my point and click forecast is now up to nearly 4ā€ while the text forecast says snow accumulating to 1-3 inches.

I’m getting a little worried myself that we’re going to lose the ULL influence.

I’m telling ya, I’ve been nervous about a shaft job for us here. The ULL can screw us. Would we get blanked then?

I really thought his was our storm but would not be shocked at a December 2000 repeat now, at least for SC and Charlotte.

This always had the greatest potential to underperform of any system I have ever seen. Trending to a dusting in CLT and Upstate SC.

Never trust an ULL. Most people in here will get something at least but this was always going to be primarily a coastal storm. With high ratios 3-5 in spots upstate is absolutely doable.

What a rug pull for places like Augusta (big one here), potentially Columbia and the triangle… Can’t get anything to go right. At this point, we need good trends until go time… but not looking likely. AGS was staring down their best snow since 2010 with the threat of 3+ inches… now a dusting is looking possible

Irrational panic in the banter thread? Color be shocked. Just relax…these things go back and forth. It wasn’t 4-5 days ago, you all were convinced this wasn’t happening at all. And here we are with WSWs for the entire states of North and South Carolina. Have a little faith and enjoy whatever happens!

Just when I got through catching up with the positive overnight disco the dad gum Europeans cancelled the good vibes for my area. šŸ˜ž

1-4ā€ is still on the table for you.

We do this with every hurricane until folks figure out post mortem that NWS was pretty accurate along the way.

All models showing a steep cutoff just south and west by about 20 miles.. around here, that line shifts north 100/100 times… a possible inch is a long way from where we were past couple days of 2-4 inches

It’s never easy. I’d rather have overrunning for a more uniform distribution of precip amounts.

3 more model suites before game time. Let’s see what happens. Definitely some unusual surprises so far. I’m sure there will be more.

Exactly this

Just a reminder, let’s say we only see 2 inches of snow here around the RDU area, I’ve been around here long enough to know that amount of snow with this cold is absolutely great for sledding, snowboarding etc. Now, I think we get more than 2 inches but still, we are in prime time skiing snow here.
