Big vortex fixing to come down towards the Lakes & SE Canada on the GEFS at day 5.

A legit window for a classic, board-wide overrunning event might be trying to open up ~Feb 10th or so. If we score in these kinds of patterns it's usually about 4-5 days after this look at 500mb

By the time the LP is in S Ga the artic high is halfway to Bermuda. Front end thump maybe. Bottom line is that Baja low needs to be kicked east a day sooner for a board-wide big dog.

If anything the low will probably be held back a day. Doesn't the GFS have a progressive bias?

Mehh a northwest trend is probably super unlikely with that look but who knows

I’m not looking for huge NW trend even though I think some correction north would be made closer in. What I would look for is precip spreading much further north as often happens in overrunning set ups.

Well if you want a big overrunning event in the SE US around Feb 10th, this is exactly what you wanna see at 500mb. Big Lakes/SE Canada vortex sliding east towards Atlantic Canada while the west-based -NAO retrogrades towards the Canadian Archipelago coupled w/ a southern stream wave near the Baja
