Lower-mid 20s during the peak of the event would make for some awesome snow ratios. I might end up seeing perfect dendrites again lol

06z goof is running. Cold press doesn’t appear to be as robust at 192 and not pressing as far south & east . On-going winter precip along & north of the i-59 corridor in AL & MS...nevertheless, still an impressive storm unfolding

This is a beautiful look at day 7 on the GEFS.
Doesn't get much better than this if you want to see a big board-wide event. Hopefully, this pattern generally holds over the coming days, I'd hate to waste an opportunity like this

I would much prefer the Euro resolution but in the end I think it will turn to ice in coming runs.

Euro ENS #20 was pretty close to the 12/18Z GFS OP run output....
Looks like this GEFS run the ridge was a little bit stronger at H5 which means more WAA aloft > ice

I think until I see the euro op and eps speed up like the gfs op is showing then I think most on this board would be happy. What a euro run last night and a cold push like that would be epic
What’s that donut doing trying to come out of nowhere into our -NAO ?
We have to be prepared for a situation where we get an epic Ice storm... when ur talking massive board wide cold ur probably going to get massive amounts of back and forth with models with regards to ice amounts .. someone’s getting shut out with ice

Timing is different with the euro and gfs. I am assuming we want the slower evolving solution the euro has in order to cut down on ice.?.
