Why temps tonight will be in upper 20s, the upstate as seen some of their best shows at 34-36° I really dont see it warming up much over that until maybe late tomorrow afternoon.
I don't have time to do the others, but I think for ATL the record high # of traces without any measurable in a season was 13 in 1950-1 (Nov 2, Dec 5, Feb 3, Mar 2, Apr 1)
Last year in April 2, I watched moderate to heavy rates for two hours between 8am and 11am put down 2.5 inches of snow after the previous 3 days had seen highs near 70. Early April sun angle and the temperature the whole snowfall was between 34-36, so I have a hard time thinking that those who see good enough rates tomorrow are not gonna see at least some accumulation

What causes this to fall apart futher east?
That's really heavy snowfall, it's maxed out! I bet there will be white out conditions.

That is crazy! There will be a mass freak out in ATL it those rates come close to verifying. Really glad this is on a Saturday!

I know this sounds like wish casting but this looks like one of those surprise systems that over performs.

It all depends on the rates. If it’s heavy it’s gonna be a good hit, if it’s light then everyone gets the middle finger.
Wish this was during the week, a threat of snow gets work cancelled. Still very excited!

They learned nothing from 2017. It was 35 degrees and I got 3 inches of snow in like an hour and a half

HRRR is so inconsistent for a mesoscale short-range model. 1 run, the snow line is around I-20, the next north of Lake Lanier...that's like a 60 mile jump.

this is so true. I grabbed close to 5 inches in DEC 2017 in the Decatur area, but I know folks down near Panola MTN that hardly saw the ground covered.
Taking a quick look at the radar and there's light rain spreading across N. MS right now.
EDIT: None of the latest short range models runs show precip in MS starting this early fwiw.

The early stages of our developing disturbance yes.
All of the short range models are showing that it's going to warm, but I don't think the temperatures will warm much for the CAD area's, especially with cloud cover and snow cover on the ground.

I can agree with that, here in the upstate we are suppose to get down to 28 and its 35 now. Be hard to warm much from that with snow falling
Already down to 33 here. Should get a good bit below freezing before the clouds come back.

This evening I renewed my subscription to WSV3 and will use that for precip maps and will post the radar periodically.

I'm at 34 here, I could see the upstate getting colder than the 28 forecasted. It's going to be ripe when this moves in.

Sunset & clearing brought the temp down here to 36.3 here. Don’t know how many central ITP folks are on here, but maybe we can get lucky.

Pretty sharp drop-off from the airport down to 37 from a high of 43 in just 2hrs. It's also 37 in NW ATL where I am.

If it gets to that which is a good possibility, just think what the wet bulbs will be
