Wintry Feb. 19-20

Early on CMC more of the same, see the SER flexing more with more troughing out west.....sheesh. Good thing I'm off to a valentine's lunch date with the wife, trust me that will look a 1000x better!

Hard to tell...I guess mostly like the 0z run.

That model run on the ICON and GFS is deja vu all over again in comparison to the event that we got earlier this week. I'm hoping that ridge of high pressure doesn't throw a monkey wrench into the works.

Yeah, I know it's anecdotal but seems to want to go where it's been largely this winter since mid Jan

Yea i see nothing wrong here.... the ppl complaining are complaining bc they want ALL Snow. That ship has sailed, let it go and stop saying things look bad unless its either A) Bone dry and gone ...B) Rainy bc its now like showing 50 degrees. ..... Even the LP placement on the GFS loooked fine still relax ppll. Also a TREND is 4 cycles ....24hrs of runs in one consistent direction good or bad.
 
I've seen this song and dance several times this winter. The models are full of promise from days 7-10 for something significant and once we get within seven days they start that northwestward trend until a couple of days before the event when they start trending just so slightly south again. The next runs from the Euro and UK will let us know if we are watching a recurring nightmare.

I mean if you look at the last 4 runs of the CMC you can clearly see the trend. In a couple more runs it'll be all rain for areas south of VA

Better to have the latter group, but it's crap when the former entire group start to go to the worst case scenario and not at least hint at coming to the good side. Both Icon/GFS pinching off and SE ridging concerns me. I'm sure the GEFS is likely to follow suite.

Now do the same thing with the Euro AI and GFS graphcast and tell me where we're headed. Lots to be ironed out still.
