My daughter at ETSU just texted me and said check out the Eagle cam at campus. Just an eagle chilling in their personal igloo
Might have to rewind a bit to see it.

The first bit of dry air it has to work through the sleet would make it down first because of its velocity and crystal structure. Once you stay in the precip for long enough it should be all snow. Why is there sleet/graupel? Are the 850's not cold enough to support snow??
Snow growth zone is lowering, some spots probably still have a DGZ to high where thereās mid level dry air. As the ULL gets closer DGZs should lowerWhy is there sleet/graupel? Are the 850's not cold enough to support snow??
That's encouraging for us down south. Also one of the CLT mets said the foothills would only have light flurries. lolcoming down pretty good now.
Picking up on the graupel rates here as well. Gonna be ripping soonI got Mod. Graupel coming down.
Is this a small line or does that build back out to our west some? Looks to be just a really small burst at that look but Iām not the one that would know.Current radar View attachment 171035
Looks like they got 2 inches or so! Geez
Jimmy you're gonna get smoked.Absolutely nothing here. I think Iām getting scammed bc it looks like it should be doing something soon View attachment 171034
I guess that's something you'll have to "grapple" with lolSounds like sleet outside but it's white balls, mod almost on the heavy side. #graupel
It don't snow here anymore we just Graupel...
Just saying what I see. It looks pretty narrow and there's graupel in the foothills. That's not encouraging
Don't you notice it intensifying as it gets closer to us?Just saying what I see. It looks pretty narrow and there's graupel in the foothills. That's not encouraging
Well latest HRRR got my attentionFor us farther east, it looks like the precip is building and moving east. Here's one radar, which isn't picking up on the returns farther south towards Charlotte and the southern foothills:
