Next week has some big ticket potential if things go the right way. GFS has us in the teens with snow. Reminds me of last February a little. Lol

Yeah huge potential. I haven't thought that all winter about any of the setups here. There's just too many signals
This would be 4 weeks in a row of a weekend winter storm set up we track … seeing some monster high pressure being spat out in our medium and long range .. CAD ice storms may be a serious issue if these trends persist .. if this pattern keeps up as it is .. this winter could go down in the history books for our standards
Negatives after our ice storm.. isn’t February suppose to be warm? 
I mean if we’re going to have a blockbuster winter .. let’s just press the big red button already and go all out! 
While the pattern looks like potential, I’m not a overall fan of the GOA ridge, need to shift that east, but there’s no shortage of Arctic air entering the US over the next couple of weeks
There is 3 CAD ice storm set ups back to back to back on the 00z Gfs .. legit have mercy
GEFS has some absolutely brutal artic air moving in around day 8
I mean these won’t verify obviously but what do they all have in common? Massive arctic high pressure either moving in/out/down all over really. With all of that cold air available it won’t be hard to make something like these happen at some point.. then after the last system moves out here comes another arctic high at the end of the run

6z GFS has a monster storm showing for day 8-9. Another weekend storm possible. In this scenario, RDU would receive heavy sleet for nearly 24 hour straight.

We gotta keep the weekend Streak alive. #3 is a lock coming up tomorrow night. I've seen this happen a couple of different times in my life. 1st Time I noticed was in High school down east believe it or not in the mid 80's, cant remember year but was a same weekday like 3 to 4 weeks in a row. mixed bag deals.
If you remember how late January and February 2004 went, it started with that Super CAD storm and then seemed to have a few nickel and dime type events before getting absolutely nailed with the 2/26-27 storm…

Keep in mind that some SE posters (definitely not me though) have said they’ve had enough cold or in a few cases never like cold and want it to be mild again. So, they’d be rooting on a stronger SER/WAR. But I still say that 1895, 1899, 1934, and 1972 among others say forget a mild Feb.

Why not 4 weeks in a row?
The GFS is now on its 3rd run in a row with the same winter storm next weekend. Same set up same cold air source with the massive arctic high... interesting to say the least.

Really hope that can be a board-wide hit. We have been so painfully close in this area with hits literally to our west, north, south and east the past month. True Miller A with a decent cold press would do wonders for western areas.
