It just seems like if we are going to get anything this year it will come together rather quickly, even unexpectedly. The pattern has obviously been awful, but the models have been total toilet water this year. Long range, short range, OPs, ensembles; they have all been completely inept. Just shows that weather forecasting is still very much an educated guess at best, and there is still a lot of mystery out there.
