That second lp is way too amped for me personally back to rain but western half of NC is absolutely crushed.... would be December record setter if verified

UK looks south of its 12z run, looks solid. Need better maps to be sure though.
Looks like Sunday evening sees wrap around snow as far south as the Jackson, MS area. And I've got family that lives up there too. Hmmm... I'll definitely keep an eye on this possibility for future model runs to see if this verifies.

Kind of a sharp cutoff in NC. Goes from 20" to nothing in like 50 miles !

The crazy thing is that actually makes it more believable.
I am also willing to bet that all that wraparound his mostly snow as the model will trend colder
There so much qpf possible with this storm, whoever gets all snow is getting for sure a foot plus
This storm could last from Saturday afternoon to Monday night for some.
2-4" on that backside in the NW atl burbs.

I'm sitting here in Chatham County watching one county north of me (Guilford) getting crushed. Time for a day trip!!!
I feel the CMC has a better handle on coming north with the system as a whole. GFS is a bit silly if you ask me. The truth is likely somewhere in between tho which is good for a lot in NC. The CMC also brings in damaging flooding as early as Thursday with heavy rain post event.
