It’s also interesting seeing the NAM model the same thing as the Euro. Snow to about 17z then flip to ice.

Adjusting for a 5:1 ratio instead of a 10:1 ratio, that would be about 4 inches of wet snow for RDU.
Euro has me and Mack getting pounded with rate driven snow from 11-5am Sunday morning. I’ll believe it when I see it

WRF looks like the FV3 to me.
That doesn't add a lot of credibility to the FV3, unfortunately.
Early Sunday morning is going to determine how this thing pans out. Good or bad. I lean towards the “bad” camp though. It makes me look smart more times than not. If you wake up sunday morning around 7am and the ground is bare, you can stick a fork in it

When in doubt, go with the worst model! Works about 80% of the time, although there definitely has been exceptions.

Either FV3 is going to challenge Euro as the new King, or it's going to be mocked as the new DGEX.
The winds have back offed some on the GFS...but still a 6 hour window of a blizzard warning for a select few. The FV3 is a little more impressive...generally the bottom two tier of counties of VA back into the NC foothills and mountains.

Im all for “going with the warmest model”, but the RGEM is off it’s rocker. Not even close. It’s a custerf*** right now

I like the potential for thunder snow...with the cells surging in on the RGEM.

NAM is rolling and out to hour 20 the HP is a good bit stronger and pushing into CAD regions more.
