Man when i looked at the radar earlier it looked like harrisburg, concord was getting busy with the snow.
yeah we are having some major issues to your southwest. I flipped from heavy snow to sleet and now it’s raining. What gives? Where is the problem?

mix of sleet and a few snow flakes here in the SE corner of Wake. Temps has dropped 2 quick degrees sitting at 39 with dp of 31

Ugh temp has risen back above freezing here at 1 am. Not sure how it’s supposed to flip to snow later. Oh well this was never Middle Tennessee’s storm to begin with plus I got a dusting earlier this week. At least the ice will melt now. Good luck to all the Carolina peeps out east!

This forecast from NWS RAH is more reasonable than the numbers they were putting out yesterday w/ ~5" in central Wake, they're arguably still too high overall.

column is saturating here is SE Wake. I have the heaviest rates yet. big Ice pellets with some grapuelly snowflake style mixing in. HRRR predicted a start of sleet then change to snow for 2-4 hours for my area. Its been modeled very well.

At least i didnt have to drive to Maggie Valley like last December's storm to see snow. Urgh, wish soundings were different with this. Potential was there for this to be memorable.

Roads turning white here in Cary. Rates are still good. CC line seems to have stopped at Fuquay and is retreating for the moment

Been sleet here at 2500' south of Asheville for a while, have about 4" of snow.

I really wouldve thought that totals would have been higher there, even downmountain from the higher elevations.

bingo. SE Wake 70/30 snow/IP. Some big quarters or larger falling. Its going to pile up fast

NAM gave me 1-2 hrs of sleet then mostly rain after. That's setting up nicely right now. Gutters are rumbling.
NAM changes RDU between 7-8am looks like

Congrats to the few SC and the many NC posters who got snow from this event! Looks like we switched places this time around with you getting the big storm up there instead of us getting it down here early. Maybe next time we all can get in on the action a bit better.
Woke up to what looks like an inch so far (have not gone out yet) but heavy snow!

GSP has me getting over .25 of freezing rain, I don't buy it. HRRR keeps me in a sleetfest for the rest of the event.

Also, it seems like precip might end sooner than expected, that lull/dry slot is fast approaching
Hrrr had me with sleet yet it's I'm getting insane snow rates, I'm gonna assume it's been switching over all night to different ptypes

RDU I thinks at 3.5” and still coming down. Northern Wake has reports of 5”. Brick must be break dancing.
