Has anyone ordered the goggles that Dr. Fauci recommended you guys wear? It would be pretty irresponsible if you guys wore the masks but not the goggles at this point. Either do it right or don’t do it at all. No half measures when it comes to flattening the curve.

I'm not sure why it's funny for people to not want to catch a virus that looks to have long term effects and cause significant health problems. Let's not even get into the possibility of a second infection being more serious. It's much easier to make jokes about it and not take it seriously. Either you got lucky and your family was spared or it's not over and it can happen again and be worse. Who knows? The bottom line is it's one thing to not care and not wear a mask, it's another to mock those who want to try to not be exposed to a new unknown virus.

The funny thing is this whole time you have assumed I don’t wear a mask when in fact I do wear a mask when it’s asked of me. I was behind a guy walking into Walmart the other day and he had a fit when the greeter lady asked him to put his mask on. I complied and put mine on without incident thinking “dude just put your mask on and shut up.”

I can be anti mask and still wear a mask when required.

The question I’m asking you is if the health experts are now telling you to wear goggles, shouldn’t you? No half measures, right? A mask alone will not stop the spread according to the experts now.

I saw a lady wearing a face shield and elbow length gloves at Walmart earlier and I was absolutely beside myself. It was just a wow moment honestly.

I saw a President on TV talking about injecting cleanser to kill the virus and I was absolutely beside myself. It was just a wow moment honestly though nothing like the wow moment you experienced. I mean seeing a lady wearing a face shield and elbow length gloves to protect herself is a much bigger wow.

It's just your general attitude towards this sucks. I'm sorry,I like you as far as I know you on this board but you just aren't helping anyone with this constant attack against people who are concerned about this virus.

Same to you. My gripe is everyone saying “wear a mask wear a mask” when there is no clear indicator of when it is safe to no longer do so. When does the fear stop? What does the curve need to look like before people can wake up in the morning again not thinking about Covid? The mask debate is just politics in the form of health. That’s how I feel about it. I can remember when all of this started and I was just as concerned as everyone else. Do you honestly believe that if we woke up tomorrow in a world where everyone wore a mask that this would all be over? Problem solved? Or are we just buying time for a vaccine to be implemented?

I'm not afraid of covid-19 any more than I'm afraid of herpes and I will do my best to avoid both

Do swimming goggles count? I’ll have to email Dr. Foolci first for approval.

It was common knowledge in February that it was contagious through the eyes it just took a little longer to get Americans to realize the severity of the virus. We are only just now starting to use masks, baby steps. I don't think goggles are necessary for daily activities but I won't make fun of someone who does.

I wear my mask but the whole googles thing is too much. I won’t make fun but I’ll definitely side eye.

Masks are a relatively hassle-free method to combat the virus. Goggles are not so hassle-free. I won't be wearing them and the CDC isn't recommending it, either. And really Dr. Fauci didn't, either; I think the media just distorted what he said. He said that it will help to combat the spread, which is certainly true, but that doesn't mean he necessarily recommended everyone wear goggles.

Would you like a brownie button or a gold star for being such a good boy?

Update on the couple I mentioned previously. The husband has been released from the hospital and his wife is much improved. She never went on the ventilator. He says she improved dramatically after being treated with remdesivir.

Unfortunately, I learned today that a church member's mother was admitted to the hospital today with COVID. She tested positive a week ago, but she is now sick enough that she is requiring hospitalization. She's in her early 60s and has developed pneumonia.

What about folks who don't die but have long term damage/after effects? Also, even with no after effects, it can be an awful and long experience.
Do we know the long term effects? The virus has only been around for less then a year. Let’s give it a few years ...

Yea they will go virtual soon. Happy to report no positives in my wife’s school. ?

I hope so but I worry about where I work, we had pre-planning Tues-Fri last week and this Monday, then kids come on Tuesday. I hope we are ready! Glad your wife's school is good for now! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us all!

She teaches at Loganville Middle. Yes they are all stressed out. Not really because of Covid but with the processes in place. It’s going to hard on teachers.

Yeah we have gone over the processes once, going into more detail tomorrow, and I hope we can adjust. I'm at Bay Creek Elem. and with all the Covid changes we are having the building renovated!

By the way for those who might still insist the flu is deadlier, this flu season in the US had AT MOST 62k deaths and AT MINIMUM 24K. The prior season had around 34K from what I saw. COVID has killed 157K and the daily numbers are rising again. Our numbers are approximately at what late May had. On the good side we aren't anywhere near the spanish flu which killed over 600k US citizens.

179 flu-associated pediatric deaths unfortunately. About 179 more then Covid-19. Dis like it all y’all want but is worse to see a child die then a 80 something. At least they lived a full life.
