I’m no Trump fan, whatsoever, but this error keeps getting recirculated. The liberal hoax he was referring to was actually not the virus, itself. Rather, he was referring to the Dem criticism of his response to it:

From Snopes:

“In context, Trump did not say in the passage above that the virus itself was a hoax. He instead said that Democrats’ criticism of his administration’s response to it was a hoax.”

Their criticism of his response was a hoax? Umm yeah considering he's done nothing but point the finger at everyone else (democrats, china, the WHO), taking no responsibility for his own actions (as usual), and sat on his hands/knees claiming we had basically nothing to worry about at a critical point in this pandemic, promulgating unproven drugs, their criticism of him and his administration isn't a hoax and 100% warranted.

Webb,
You’re totally taking my post out of context. Please reread what I posted. I’m not at all defending how Trump handled the virus as I think he has done absolutely awful with it overall, largely due to misleading communication, encouraging divisiveness, downplaying it much of the time, recommending medications when he’s not a doc, and setting a very poor example in downplaying the threat. BUT, when he said “liberal hoax”, he was referring to the Dem criticism of his handling of it and NOT the virus, itself. There’s plenty to criticize him about with regard to the handling of the virus, but how you’re referring to what he meant by the hoax is incorrect. When even Snopes is defending Trump, you can take it to the bank that the MSM’s constant reference to what Trump was referring to when he said “liberal hoax” was false.

In the context of his other absolutely atrocious comments on covid-19, it's really easy for both the left & right to take that particular one out of context.

North Carolina reports a record-high 982 COVID-19 hospitalizations today. Hospital and ICU capacity is still somewhat improved over a few weeks ago, however. We have roughly a quarter spare capacity in both.

Texas is an interesting case because even though things seem like they may be going pear shaped there now, it still currently has the 11th lowest COVID-19 deaths per capita of any state at this point. It’s creeping up, though, for sure. Florida is a similar case, although they were somewhat worse hit. Florida ranks around mid pack in per capita deaths at the moment.

Things appear to be getting worse in both states, so I wouldn’t expect them to hold onto these spots, but they have a long, long way to go before approaching New York/New Jersey/Massachusetts/etc. level death rates (basically, deaths 10-15 times higher than they have now), although that still may yet happen (and it can happen in a hurry). The high case loads they have been piling up over the last couple weeks are obviously a cause for concern....

4 Tampa hospitals out of ICU beds. Anyone apologize to DeSantis yet?

And like in Montgomery the Hill twists information to turn what is concerning news into dire fake news.

July 5th, a spokesperson with AdventHealth told 10 Tampa Bay, "The information that we do not have ICU beds at AdventHealth North Pinellas is not accurate. Below you will find our statement on capacity and would encourage you to reach out to AHCA to provide additional context to their count."

All hospitals in the AdventHealth West Florida Division are closely and continuously monitoring positive COVID-19 cases in their facility. We currently have sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE) for our team members, patients and guests, as well as available med-surg beds, ICU beds and ventilators, should they be needed. The planning and protocols we put in place earlier this year, including strict safety guidelines, quarantining of COVID-19 patients in designated units and care areas, and enhanced cleaning measures, has well-positioned us to respond and ensure the continued high quality care for our community. It is important to note, that while cases are increasing, we are not experiencing a surge in patients who require hospitalization due to COVID-19 but we remain prepared to take care of any patient in need of our services.

In regards to bed counts in Pinellas County, Burton said, "There’s a number of issues going on within our hospitals. One, obviously we have more COVID patients. There’s no question. About 30 percent of our ICU beds are a result of COVID."

Baycare and HCA Healthcare opted to pull back on elective surgeries to prepare for a possible surge due to the coronavirus.

Think about it this way. If the younger people all get it quickly, they'll spread it to the older population in no time. If that happens you better believe the death rate increases.
That’s why I’ve been told the last 2-3 weeks. We shall see but I see no proof yet. People are being smart around the elderly.

Besides the elderly that are at the beaches and pools. They are only harming themselves.
That's the main issue. There are a lot of elderly people who are acting ignorant and don't care about themselves or others. Yes younger people can get it and 99.999% of the time live, but when you mix the same behavior with middle to upper age people it starts getting ugly.

Huntsville Hospital has canceled elective surgeries requiring an overnight stay. My little town of less than 10k has several restaurants and a pharmacy go back to curbside only or drive thru due to rising cases in the area

Well, my mom ordered a 3 pack of masks tonight. So, if we see Georgia actually mandate masks, we'll likely be ready to comply.

do feel it's coming... The football warning is likely effective with some (and also upsetting) but that's not enough.

I would not count on it. Hospitals are becoming overwhelmed now. That could make things happen too.
Thats in large part to elective surgeries. They can nip it in the bud real quick. But they want because of already enough financial loss.
