Here’s the last press release from the Albany, GA. I wish more hospitals around the state would do what Phoebe is doing. I know I’m concerned about Metro Atlanta not taking it seriously. I know my neighbors aren’t taking it serious. I live in West Cobb and the kids were selling lemonade, sun bathing, and having kickball games yesterday. Always more than 10 kids together.

I mean people have to find a way to have a little fun. I dont see anything wrong with selling lemonade or sunbathing. Do you expect people to just lock themselves in their bedrooms and not leave until this is over ?

I not saying that but if you look at the shelter in place in our county they are in violation of it. I get kids being kids but parents are treating this like it’s mini summer vacation. Most people don’t realize in the State of Georgia rough 90 of our over 150 counties don’t have ICU units or ventilators. Those people that get sick and have to go somewhere. Yesterday it was stated our main Hospital provider in Cobb County has all ICU beds in use and less than 50 ventilators left. Albany is now shipping patients off to the Macon, Columbus, and Augusta areas. There even talks about the State of Georgia using the World Congress Center as a temporary hospital. Not trying to argue but kids can be carriers and not realize it.

Kids are walking disease vectors in the best of times - but during a pandemic with widespread community transmission? Yes, let's let them hand out beverages to the whole neighborhood. ?‍♂️

Personally I think older and people with compromised immune systems need to be kept at home and away from everyone else. Let everyone under a certain age and people who are healthy go back to work. As long as the people at most risk of dying are separated from everyone else, then i don't see why everything needs to shut down.

Elderly should stop living?

Elderly should stop living?
For now yes. Only temporarily of course. I mean if older people are ordered to stay at home then the rest of society can go back to work without having to worry about coming into contact and infecting an older person. Of course I realize younger people are getting sick too but its obviously not nearly as serious for younger people in general. Younger people can go buy groceries for their elderly friends and relatives.

I got this in an email:

“The following is from Irene Ken physician, whose daughter is an Asst. Prof in infectious diseases at Johns Hopkins University, quite informative.
* The virus is not a living organism, but a protein molecule (DNA) covered by a protective layer of lipid (fat), which, when absorbed by the cells of the ocular, nasal or buccal mucosa, changes their genetic code. (mutation) and convert them into aggressor and multiplier cells.
* Since the virus is not a living organism but a protein molecule, it is not killed, but decays on its own. The disintegration time depends on the temperature, humidity and type of material where it lies.
* The virus is very fragile; the only thing that protects it is a thin outer layer of fat. That is why any soap or detergent is the best remedy, because the foam CUTS the FAT (that is why you have to rub so much: for 20 seconds or more, to make a lot of foam).
By dissolving the fat layer, the protein molecule disperses and breaks down on its own.
* HEAT melts fat; this is why it is so good to use water above 25 degrees Celsius for washing hands, clothes and everything. In addition, hot water makes more foam and that makes it even more useful.
* Alcohol or any mixture with alcohol over 65% DISSOLVES ANY FAT, especially the external lipid layer of the virus.
* Any mix with 1 part bleach and 5 parts water directly dissolves the protein, breaks it down from the inside.
* Oxygenated water helps long after soap, alcohol and chlorine, because peroxide dissolves the virus protein, but you have to use it pure and it hurts your skin.
* NO BACTERICIDE OR ANTIBIOTIC SERVES. The virus is not a living organism like bacteria; antibodies cannot kill what is not alive.
* NEVER shake used or unused clothing, sheets or cloth. While it is glued to a porous surface, it is very inert and disintegrates only
-between 3 hours (fabric and porous),
-4 hours (copper and wood)
-24 hours (cardboard),
- 42 hours (metal) and
-72 hours (plastic).
But if you shake it or use a feather duster, the virus molecules float in the air for up to 3 hours, and can lodge in your nose.
* The virus molecules remain very stable in external cold, or artificial as air conditioners in houses and cars.
They also need moisture to stay stable, and especially darkness. Therefore, dehumidified, dry, warm and bright environments will degrade it faster.
* UV LIGHT on any object that may contain it breaks down the virus protein. For example, to disinfect and reuse a mask is perfect. Be careful, it also breaks down collagen (which is protein) in the skin.
* The virus CANNOT go through healthy skin.
* Vinegar is NOT useful because it does not break down the protective layer of fat.
* NO SPIRITS, NOR VODKA, serve. The strongest vodka is 40% alcohol, and you need 65%.
* LISTERINE IF IT SERVES! It is 65% alcohol.
* The more confined the space, the more concentration of the virus there can be. The more open or naturally ventilated, the less.
* You have to wash your hands before and after touching mucosa, food, locks, knobs, switches, remote control, cell phone, watches, computers, desks, TV, etc. And when using the bathroom.
* You have to HUMIDIFY HANDS DRY from so much washing them, because the molecules can hide in the micro cracks. The thicker the moisturizer, the better.
* Also keep your NAILS SHORT so that the virus does not hide there.
-JOHNS HOPKINS HOSPITAL”

I just want to point out that Sars-Cov-2 is a single stranded RNA virus, not DNA.

Spoken like a true “Me First” person.

Next time you have a thought that pops into your head, let it die there instead of speaking it. Let it die. Kind of like how you’re proposing the elderly do.

I don't think some folks comprehend that "older folks" basically take care of a goodly portion of the rest of our society (economically, socially, and by just plain ol' teaching) ... they'll get there some day and figure it out ... in the meantime, enjoy the Nottely ...it's what us "folks" do in a pinch! ;)

I didn't mean to offend anyone. I love older people. I just feel like the statistics show older people are being impacted more than any other age group and therefore they need to be protected more than anyone else.

All I can say is get out there to a nice, secluded place if you have cabin fever. I've been home for 2 weeks straight (with 2 trips out to the grocery and pharmacy). I took a nice, long drive into the north GA mountains, and I mentally feel so much better now.
