Very very strongly disagree, give us about 2-3 weeks...
We have 1 million hospital beds. They are 60 to 65 % full on a normal day. So anyone who hedges we want hit max capacity only has 300,000 bed cushion to play with. These are regular beds and not icu beds. Ill be happily shocked if we dont rub up against that and beyond for a few weeks.
And thats coming from me, whos not as really concerned with the virus itself once we get to mid-late May and beyond. The world economy is the biggest victim in addition to those who have and will lose loved ones.

With so many rumors and people mentioning a national lockdown and then agencies debunking it, you have to wonder who's right. I really think enforcing a lockdown is really the only way to prevent this from getting completely out of hand. There are far too many ignorant and selfish people out there who will continue to defy recommendations.

If there is a national lockdown then that is checkmate for the US in my opinion

Personally I definitely think it’s possible. The question in my mind is how long does it last. How many cases that are being missed or asymptomatic will determine that.

Honestly I think you can already see the national lockdown happening bars and restaurants being told to close early and grocery stores deciding to close early. We’re slowly shifting towards the lockdown so when the federal govt finally comes out and says it may not be as bad of a panic because we’ve been shifting towards it.

Dr. Fauci (sp?) said on national TV that he was recommending a nation-wide lock down, so the rumors are not entirely baseless.
Exactly and he has pretty much been the lead with this and I'll be shocked if they do not follow his recommendations.

I'm kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop... I think there was supposed to be a news conference in NC this morning and a national news conference but neither have occurred and I've heard they have been rescheduled for later today?

I put the odds of a lockdown this week at about 90%. How many times are we going to have to watch "the officials" play catch-up before we trust our own good sense about how things are going to play out?

Of course they're going to deny a lockdown until they announce it. And they're going to announce it at some point.

Now the owner of the meat market is saying 4:30-5:00 for the chicken truck. I couldn’t wait any longer so I bought another 10lb log of 80/20 (the last one) I spoke to several people people from all over the upstate in there. Some drove 60 miles looking for meat because it’s all wiped out where they live. Just wow

GA counties with 3+ cases today and trend since Saturday:

Fulton: 13 20 27
Cobb: 15 19 22
Dekalb: 8 10 10
Bartow: 7 9 9
Cherokee 5 6 7
Fayette 4 5 5
Floyd 3 4 4
Clarke 0 3 3
Lowndes 1 2 3

Even the worst of these, Fulton, increased the same as yesterday's 7 rather than faster. When increases start slowing down, that's a big step in the right direction. For calculus fans, that would be the daily derivative decreasing or the slope of the curve declining.

No, why would you? It's apples and oranges to compare spirituality with a man-made bio weapon that the Chinese apparently unleashed on themselves. I wonder if it was the Germans that started Polio?
They cooked this stuff up in their lab. For what reason, purpose who knows. Whether this accidentally got out or deliberately will be debated forever. You will never convince me this didnt get baked in that wuhan lab. I tend to lean it got out by accident.

I will say with many states/cities already starting to enact their own type of lock-downs, it may actually make the official word of a national lock-down (if it happens) easier to handle.... intentional or not, this might have been the right way to go to prevent that instant shock panic result

Yeah, I agree.

OK, to each his own. I'm not an epidemiologist but keep in mind this is Covid-19 that came along in a line of SARS & MERS before it.

Rumors from a police officer I know is more than likely in 72 hours or less all non essential businesses in GA will be forced to close. Only grocery, pharmacy and doctors offices will be open.

Grocery stores will be forced to ration. This isn’t going to be good. I’ll say it again, wait until people get off work and there’s still nothing on the shelves.

We better hope it's more than just a rumor. It NEEDS to happen. That may be an unpopular opinion, but it's the truth.
Totally disagree. That would destroy small businesses and people that live paycheck to paycheck. If you think things are bad now if that happens it’s going to get a lot worse before better

Small businesses are already being affected as well as people who live paycheck to paycheck. Would you rather have the hospitals at capacity? Would you rather see 100,000+ people die? Sorry, the positives from a nationwide lockdown outweigh the negatives. There is just no argument. The economy will eventually recover. Dead people can't.
