Misc Cold Season Complaining

The longer afternoons are starting to become noticeable.
What do you notice? Our sunsets have gone from 5:08 pm a few weeks ago at the earliest time of the year to 5:19 pm today. If I didn't have to lock the chickens up every night when the sun goes down, I don't think I would notice it yet.

In before the new year: The pattern change is so unbelievable, the models have to waffle! Cold line we have not seen since JBurns was a toddler, back in 1835

I mean the sunset was 5:31 pm here a few weeks ago, and today I still saw the sun at 5:31. So thats why I said it was noticeable.

Gonna have to post this here because of it mostly being banter.

LOL at the GFS with it having my high temperature being 12 degrees (edit: maybe 16)...with it very close to day 10'ish.

Now I know for sure this won't verify. The energy that's been flying around has been there, but this solution can be thrown away.

Main reason why it's like that it's because it trended back to the TPV sitting over Kentucky.

I'm posting this in here because its an absolute joke. All that cold on the models a few days ago has transitioned to 40s/20s, nothing in the least bit remarkable, and yet again some bogus crap bs sub-zero. Its not even entertaining to see anymore.

Anyone else having Pork chops blackeye peas collard greens and cornbread for dinner tonight? I think it’s called the poor man’s dinner? Brings luck for next year or whatever. Idk I just like all those things.

Ham, blackeye peas, collards and corn bread for dinner tomorrow on New Years Day - just like every year.
It helps bring snow.

Lots of cloud to cloud lightning here all of a sudden! :p

Powers out. At my brothers house so the Generac kicked in.

Speaking of New Years foods. We made a big pot of “Good luck soup” that has smoked sausage, collards, black eyed peas, pinto beans, tomatoes, onions and some spices, and it was incredible. I also made my famous cornbread in the cast iron (absolutely no sugar). We will eat on it thru tomorrow. It’s good stuff!

I like collards but I wouldn't want them in soup.

The thing is, the pattern sets up in < 72 hrs. That’s why some of the vets are starting to hone in on this.
Don't we need the 6th storm to add to the strength of the pattern and stuff like that?

Having mine tomorrow for lunch.... Only ours will be ham hock, peas, cornbread, and slaw.

Sure that will play a part later on, but we already have a stout -NAO developing for the 1/6 system. If it can remain suppressed there might be just enough cold to get the job done.

Got to hand it to you...... You have stuck with this "wave one" timeframe since before Christmas. Kudos to you if you reel this one in.
