Saw some 5” reports out of Wichita 80 minutes ago. Probably approaching 7” by now with a lot more banding still to come

What was the forecast?
Got a first cousin that lives there. He text me yesterday and ask how much was he getting? I told him 4-8 yesterday, I see no reason to change!

It looks to be correct at this moment in time. A lot more going wrong with the modeling than trending the right way for us unfortunately.

The irony about Wichita is I distinctly remember last night people thinking the best snow would be east of them

Yeah see the models shifted that band over us last night is where a lot of the bust talk is coming from. The models always struggled with where it would be
I mean it hasn't stopped snowing but other than a burst around 1 it hasn't been overly impressive either
Did all the models show that or was it just the HRRR/RAP? I don't recall.

I was thinking driving home as it is 54 and partly cloudy..it'll take a heckuva ne wind tomorrow to drive in cold enough air here

I didn't really look at the globals anymore but I know the GFS was starting to show it and the NAM definitely did
Even the Euro started to come around at 0z
Gotcha, I just know the HRRR can go crazy sometimes with stuff like that and it's wrong, LOL.

Tulsa and Owasso seem to be getting a lot more snow than Jenks and Broken Arrow.

TBH, from some of the stuff back in Corn States we may be better off to just rest up tonight and take a break. PPL with 7" on the ground that was forecasted 1.... Mets nightmare

Just unbelievable. If you gave me this look 100 times, I would take it 100 times, and bet that 98 times I would have at least a couple of inches coming, or perhaps a big one. I mean that is textbook.

We get close to 70 early next week and I hope it stays there or gets warmer right through the end of the month. Then 80's in March. Hopefully not another freeze after this weekend.

It’s all about that transfer of energy when it moves to the coastal. That and the gulf convection being modeled. It sucks.

I guess the most amazing part about this storm is the fact that the models nailed the bullseye in SW Missouri it appears. It never really shifted off it even last night it was just spreading the band more over here
