Misc Cold Season Complaining

NGL, I've been unusually fortunate this year when it comes to snow even within the metro itself. The northwestern half of the metro literally got blanked while I got 1.5 inches. Even in the January 10th event, much of the northern metro only got 1-2 inches while Atlanta and the southern metro got 3-5. Usually the northern metro gets more snow, but this year's been different.
This is true. I live in Forsyth Co and feel kinda shafted. I only got a little over an inch in the first storm and didn’t see a flake today. Doesn’t always pay to be further north! Hopefully our luck will change before winter is over. I just want enough snow to cover the grass!

But for real I am happy for all those in the Deep South/coastal areas. This is a historical event for them that they may never see for a very long time!

So used to the past several years when Feb and March just fast tracked to Spring don’t know whether to be hopeful at more shots or pack it up….i would normally be like, oh cool couple of small events and we will still have all Feb, but the last few years has me wary of such hoping.

So, it's only GSP and Charlotte with a serious lack of snow now. Getting over 1 inch in these 2 places is impossible.
Yeah but we ain’t mad. This was somewhat a surprise to the general public. Nice to watch snow fall in mid/low 20’s. We got 6” in 2022 so we’ll be fine. Our day is coming

Feb and March are lost causes now. Climate change has taken care of that. We may not even get back to freezing once Feb gets here.

Maybe an inch along the eastern I-20 corridor in Georgia. Sure hated to whiff on this one. Got a high elevation cabin in NC mountains to get our snow fix, would have lost my mind already if not for that. Couldn’t save us this time though. Can’t quite remember a storm we couldn’t road trip north to cheat the Georgia weather. Crazy though even at 4000 feet in the North Carolina mountains, we may get a good snow once or twice a year these days.

I'm pretty happy about this one. Love that the Gulf of Mexico areas got plastered today. A lot of people in almost every state in the SE got at least something.

Last week we got around 2", today maybe 1". It was super fun chasing this one.

Next stop: severe? lawn mowing? bbqs? idk.. maybe another snow event you never can be too sure.

If we’re following the 2013-2014 script then in just about two weeks from now…

I'll gladly pass, no thank you.

I will say that I do think we might finally see at least half of February be cold since a lot of the February's since then have been an utter fail when you talk about winter and it looks like this January will 100% be like what January 2014 was temp wise (it's rivaling it bigly).

If we're going to repeat what we have this time and last this winter, we'll probably have a threat near President's Day as a last hurrah ha.

Look man, I’m just over here weeping in my dry and cold weather but that was quite the take.

I just “ASSUMED” it would Trend North from the City at Minimum into N-L.A based off History. Hey I was wrong. I most definitely think we see 2 more THREATS to track over the next 5 weeks

These systems are always bittersweet. I love getting the snow and enjoy it in the moment, but they also remind me how much I want a big dog. It’s been so long since I’ve seen 3”+. But it’s a solid snowfall here and very beautiful. As 1-2” storms go, this one is pretty great since it was so cold. A warmer 1-2” storm might not even stick the roads.

Super happy for the “biblical” totals from the Gulf Coast, though. Truly an honor to get snow in the same historic storm that shattered Florida's snowfall record by double! :)

This is a pretty incredible storm. I can't help but be excited for all the snow lovers along the gulf and SE coast. I mean the pictures and totals are simply incredible. At the same time... this one hurts.

So; the mountains and upper south have had good snow. West of the Apps have had good snow, and now much of the deep south and coastal areas have had historic snow. Now its the peidmont's turn.

That last statement is exactly how I feel. We’ll always be able to draw a parallel when looking back on this one. I wasn’t invited to the table, but they did make me a to-go plate.

We’ve been told over and over the last several years how it can’t snow like it used to. This right here shows that it can still snow and it will still snow.

Our turn is a LONG way off if ever. My last 3+ event here was in 2014. Easley has had several of them since then.
